Doing OK here, hoping you all are as well. Just busy enjoying the outdoors before nasty ole winter returns to the area!! More soon. Pics likely. ![]()

He was born August 24th at 11:42 A.M. and is the third of my daughter, Candis’ children. He weighed 6 pounds, 4 ounces and has hair! This is important because Candis as well as her first two children were endearingly known as ‘cue ball heads” and took quite a while to have any of the baby-fine white-
blonde locks begin to show. lol As you can see here in this picture, he’s doing alright where the hair issue is concerned!

Now this wee one will have a hard act to follow, considering he has a 6 year old sister and an almost three year old brother (next month) with whom he’ll be vying for placement within the Woods ranks. I feel quite confident he’ll hold his ground though.
His siblings will love him, teach him ‘stuff’ and, yes, get into scuffs with him from time to time I’m sure, but such are the makings of any close family. So he’ll endure. This pic of the three of them together is too precious, don’t you think?
I was there the night before when they had my daughter come in to be induced and took a few pictures, but I’ll not get too terribly pic-posting happy and attempt to post even a fourth of the shots I have taken in his first two days of life.
That would be more than Xanga could handle I should think! Yeah, I’m known for being the ‘picture pest’ and you all know it’s true. Just a couple more and then next week maybe I can sneak in a few more yet. I went during my lunch on Thursday to see him and Candi took this one of me holding him just before I left. She was all excited because the doctor told her she could go home instead of staying until Friday afternoon.
‘Not sure why’, is what went through my head, since you have so much help at the hospital and don’t have cook, wash dishes and so forth, but, we always want to get home, don’t we?
Doesn’t a baby gazing up at mommy just look too sweet? sigh
Have a super week everyone! I could be a bit scarce on here for a time. … well… I must do my Nana job and take pics… right?

I was having a really lousy day (a lousy week to be honest) at work and personally too and my friends knew it at work. So three of them came over to my cubicle at work and blew bubbles to cheer me up!
It’s nice to have friends.
It makes me look like I have dirty spots on my face from where the shadows of the bubbles are, but I assure you, I had showered before I came in to work that day.
Wednesday, the day I was having such a hard time, I’d had a number of computer issues with both the laptop I must use that has my AIM software on it and the system computer at the administrative offices as well. Then I had been praying for a long-time friend and her family because her mom was about to lose the fight against cancer and got the call from my friend, in tears, that she was gone. My (very pregnant) daughter also called to tell me she had gone to the doctor and was dialated 2 cm and could go into labor anytime. That part was good news! Still, it added a bit more anxiouseness to the already stressful day.
So this week is over and all I can say is ‘THANK GOD!’
Still no baby, but she’s trying EVERYthing to make it happen this weekend. It would mean she’d be back home before her eldest, Kerstin, begins school on Tuesday and that was her goal. So please pray that my baby girl, Candis, goes into labor today or tomorrow at the latest and has us a new little bundle of joy, OK?
Well, I hope to get around to some of your sites to say hello today and tomorrow. Have a super weekend!

Tomatoes!! YUM!
These are some of my tomatoes and the first of the yellow tomatoes to ripen. I have been waiting impatiently for them. I could come out to the back yard and move them a bit to look under the leaves and try to spy the big yummy fruits, but alas, it was soooooo long in coming. I got to enjoy the ‘fruti of my labor’ yesterday at lunch. Along with a cucumber from a freind’s garden. It was delicuous!
I have only tomatoes this year, but I must admit, it has inspired me to want a larger garden next year if possible.

My best picture of the yellow tomato is this one.
This is it for now I guess. As usual these days, I have little time to get a lot posted here.
I’m going to have a bunch more to share! YES!
Have a great week everyone! And enjoy these last days of the summer season if you live where autum and winter are looming.

I had a nice evening with co-workers last night. I didn’t get home until after 8:00 and went straight from work at 4:00. Normally, an after work function that I’ve been asked to attend means I make an appearance and jet, but I like the other AIM crew. The reason for the get-together was to say farewell to 2 of our bunch who are staying with the company, but moving to other areas. One is going to another state, Florida, and the other just a different region in Ohio.
Here is a pic of all of us. We met at Willies in Montgomery.
As you can see, everyone has genuine smiles and we were having a good time. I am apparently the only one who has a distaste for beer. YUK!
We shared various appetizers and then those who wanted some dinner ordered, but Amy and I rode together and had the furthest to drive home, so we left before most of the rest.
Well, I have VBS pics from our church’s Vacation Bible School to make a Power Point slide presentation. I’ll put a couple of those on soon.
Make a great day!

I have been watching a show for a few weeks now. It’s a made-for-TV show called Into The West and I was enjoying the stories playing out of the settlers families and so on, when it began showing more of what happened as the pioneers pushed further and further west. I recall learning, in school, how our government handled things with the Indians and becoming quite indignant when retelling things at home about the mistreatment of the people who were here before us (or in my child-like manor, at that time I’d have said, “They were here first!“). As I watch this show, I can’t tell you how my ‘always-need-everything-done-fairly’ frame of mind goes into a spin. It’s made me think about a lot of things, but mostly, it’s made me want to study more, not only about our Native American history, but others as well. I love to learn things, but RE-learning things (or at least remembering them) is not bad either.

I thought that if I post only a small tidbit about several things, maybe I can catch up on a few things here without boring anyone who stops by to read.

My new job is great! Especially when compared to the one I had before it. I dreaded work then so much. This one I like, but need a day now and then off too, so I still look forward to weekends like everyone does. I feel fairly treated, fairly paid and more respected in this job than I did in the one before it, by quite a stretch.

My eldest daughter and her husband and two children have been living with me a while now. I am hopeful she is really getting a different mindset as far as money and work and all that is concerned. She has signed up for classes at our local University and begins soon. Maybe this will get her on a better track. It has been much more difficult to find a peaceful moment or get the amount of rest needed, but I have been enjoying getting closer to the children. The family was not prone to just stopping by much when they lived a ways southwest. Plus, I really hope to help them get their feet under them, though it seems old habits of not keeping a job & of spending money when they should hold on to it are hard to retrain. Pray

My second daughter is due with her 3rd (and final) grandbaby for me.
The medical professionals are calling for another boy. She will have a girl and 2 boys and I have to tell you, she’s an awfully good mommy to have started so young. It seems her whole of life is to give them a better life than she’s had and make the most for them. I could take hurt at that first part, but I do not. It just makes me proud, because that’s all I ever wanted for mine, though, I’m not sure I accomplished it really (I’m more sure I didn’t actually). Don’t get me wrong, I had a great childhood thanks to a mom whom loved so selflessly and taught me the important things in life. I just meant to have more ‘substance’ for mine and really don’t believe I made that a reality.

My son, who turned TWENTY ONE on the fourth of July!!!!!!
is signed up for fall classes and he’s all set. He saves his money, has kept the same job for years! He started working at the local grocery store in our little village (which does now have township status) when he was in ninth grade I think. It could be tenth, but anyway, he still has the job and has also held other jobs at the same time. He was working there before being old enough to drive and still has the job! (that amazes me in this day and age) He’s got a great work ethic and rarely missed school or work as far as I can remember. He has saved enough money from this job to get a decent vehicle but has decided to just drive the little knock-around car I bought him when he turned 16 until it dies on him. lol I won’t say he’s tight with money, but…
Alrighty then … That might help catch up a little. Though there are tons of things (and pics!!
) I could post and will try to get around to doing soon.
Take care and have a great week.

Gosh, it’s been a while!

I think of many of my Xanga friends often, some nearly daily, but I have had very little time to sit and write of late. I also have not been able to stop by to catch up on what others have happening in their lives. My apologies, if I have missed crises or blessed events or just some good writing or fun on you sites.
I will try to make it by to some of you today as I am staying home with some stomach trouble and would normally not have this ‘extra’ time to visit with some of you.
Have a blessed day!

About an email saying you won a Lottery
I want to share that there is an email scam going around, 2 of my personal email addresses had this come this week. It says UK National Lottery at the top and looks quite official. Then when you think, “hmmm, well, if I actually have won something like this, I’d hate to not redeem the winning ticket and miss out on that much money”. So, you send a reply giving your information. You get a response saying to send certain information to another person who is in charge of sending the pertinent documents to you to be signed. Then you send that and… you get the 3 options on how to cash in on the winnings. The first is to appear at the lottery board which is, of course, in London, and you are in the U.S. So of course, you look at options 2 or 3 and each states you must pay the cost of them sending the funds to you and looks fairly reasonable. However, the costs must be sent ahead of your receiving the money, obviously right? And the money must be sent to a person who will act as the sender, once he’s gotten your fees, of course. I went to www.snopes.com to check it out, typed UK Lottery in the search box and sure enough… there have been a number of victims of this scam. I wanted to pass this on. Please go to snopes.com and type UK Lottery in the search or any other email you get that you need to verify. its a great site for locating a hoax or scam such as this. Even if you just want to see whether a forward about a missing or ill person is true before passing it on and perpetuating a lie or something that began so long ago it is no longer valid. This site has been something I use to keep from forwarding things that need be stopped and to keep from being taken for a fool. Of course, I knew it sounded too good to be true, so it likely was, but at least with snopes, I can see there have been others.
I hope your Sunday is going along nicely. i just needed a quick break from house and yard work.

Whether this is true or not it is too good not to share. I got it as an email funny.
You gotta love this lawyer – Everyone who has ever bought a house can enjoy this.
A New Orleans lawyer sought an FHA loan for a client. He was told the loan would be granted if he could prove satisfactory title to a parcel of property being offered as collateral. The title to the property dated back to 1803, which took the lawyer three months to track down. After sending the information to the FHA, he received the following reply
(Actual letter):
Upon review of your letter adjoining your client’s loan application, we note that the request is supported by an Abstract of Title. While we compliment the able manner in which you have prepared and presented the application, we must point out that you have only cleared title to the proposed collateral property back to 1803. Before final approval can be accorded, it will be necessary to clear the title back to its origin.
Annoyed, the lawyer responded as follows (actual letter):
Your letter regarding title in Case No. 189156 has been received. I note that you wish to have title extended further than the 194 years covered by the present application. I was unaware that any educated person in this country, particularly those working in the property area, would not know that Louisiana was purchased, by the U.S., from France in 1803, the year of origin identified in our application. For the edification of uninformed FHA bureaucrats, the title to the land, prior to U.S., ownership was obtained from France, which had acquired it by Right of Conquest from Spain. The land came into the possession of Spain by Right of Discovery made in the year 1492 by a sea captain named Christopher Columbus, who had been granted the privilege of seeking a new route to India by the Spanish monarch, Isabella. The good queen, Isabella, being a pious woman and almost as careful about titles as the FHA, took the precaution of securing the blessing from the Pope before she sold her jewels to finance Columbus’ expedition. Now the Pope, as I’m sure you may know, is the emissary of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and God, it is commonly accepted, created this world. Therefore, I believe it is safe to presume that God also made that part of the world called Louisiana. God, therefore, would be the owner of origin and His origins date back to before the beginning of time, the world, as we know it AND the FHA. I hope you find God’s original claim to be satisfactory. Now, may we have our damn loan?
The loan was approved.
Well, speaking of titles, I am looking for my CAR TITLES! My son is selling his, which is in my name because we got it for him when he got his license and wasn’t 18 yet so it was put in my name. He’s planning to sell it and get a new car. Mike’s car that he drives (when he is HERE) is a Buick and we are trying to sell this one also because he can’t really drive it over the border to see his family and it’s not always convenient for me to take him when he needs to go. So he’s getting a car there and it should make things easier. So when Zaac gets his new car and Mike his, I still have mine and the two they’ve been driving… I’ll have a blasted car lot right in front of my house!
I found Zaac’s title, not sure what the heck has eaten the other two! A Title eating monster!!! RUN for your lives!
Anyway, I have a wedding today (outside, but, it’s raining like mad and supposed to rain and thunderstorm all day). Tomorrow is our Potluck Carry-in at church, so I need to go get food to cook and take, and it’s supposed to be a game day after the meal… outside too… and then
an outside birthday party for my little jay-bug (Jayden Lee is THREE tomorrow) at 3:00. So say this with me please…
Rain, rain, go away… come again some other day. Little Debbie wants to play. Rain, rain, go away.
