  • Silly Quickies…
    1. Two antennas meet on a roof, fall in love and get married. The ceremony wasn’t much, but the reception was excellent.

    2.
Two hydrogen atoms walk into a bar. One says, “I’ve lost my electron.”
The other says, “Are you sure?” The first replies, “Yes, I’m
    positive…”

     3. A jumper cable walks into a bar. The bartender says, “I’ll serve you but don’t start anything.”

     4. A sandwich walks into a bar. The bartender says, “Sorry, we don’t serve food in here.”

     5. A dyslexic man walks into a bra.

     6. A man walks into a bar with a slab of asphalt under his arm and says: “A beer please, and one for the road.”

     7. Two cannibals are eating a clown. One says to the other: “Does this taste funny to you?”

     8.
“Doc, I can’t stop singing ‘The Green, Green Grass of Home.’” “That
sounds like Tom Jones Syndrome.” “Is it common?” “It’s Not Unusual.”

     9.
Two cows standing next to each other in a field. Daisy says to Dolly,
“I was artificially inseminated this morning.” “I don’t believe you,”
said Dolly. “It’s true, no bull!” exclaimed Daisy.

     10. An invisible man marries an invisible woman. The kids were nothing to look at either.

     12.
A man takes his Rottweiler to the vet and says, “My dog’s cross-eyed,
is there any thing you can do for him?” “Well,” says the vet, “let’s
have a look at him.” So he picks the dog up and examines his eyes.
Finally, he says, “I’m going to have to put him down.” “Why?? Because he’s cross-eyed?” “No, because he’s really heavy.”

     13.
Apparently, one in five people in the world are Chinese. And there are
five people in my family, so it must be one of them. It’s either my mom
or my dad or maybe my older brother Calvin or my younger brother
    Ho-Chin. But I’m pretty sure it’s Calvin.

     14. I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn’t find any.

     15.
I went to the butcher’s the other day and bet him 50 bucks that he

     16. A man woke up in a hospital after
a serious accident. He shouted, “Doctor, doctor, I can’t feel my legs!”
The doctor replied, “I know you can’t – I’ve cut off your arms!”

     17. I went to a seafood disco last week and pulled a mussel.

     18.
Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly; but when they lit a fire in
the craft, it sank, proving that you can’t have your kayak and heat it
    t oo.

     19. What do you call a fish with no eyes? A fsh.

     20. Two termites walk into a bar. One asks, “Is the bar tender here?”

I know, I’m resorting to low means just to have an entry… I hope you laugh at a couple at least.

  • What I did most of this past Sunday….

Above:our whole group, band and vocalists… for our Praise and Worship team at church.
Below, my niece, Angie.  She is also the Pastor’s wife at our little church… but we are growing soooooo fast!

Mr. Bassman, Cody is also a good singer. he’s a superb young man I admire and always I enjoy hearing him sing and play.  Behind him in this picture is the keyboard wildman, James.   James also is our Youth ‘Pastor’ type person.  He’s always a lot of fun and very talented too.  We have a great crew!
Below are Me and Angie and then our violinsit, Amy.  She is getting better all the time.

    And moi of course…

Here’s Cody singing and Kyle playing the guitar in the background.

Our drummer, Rob and Mr. guitarman, Dave are rockin’ the house!

This one has our newest member, Sam, playing acoustic guitar.  He sings too.  Sam happens to also be our new ensemble director.  That’s been going well since around Christmas.  He is multi-talented and a funny guy too.  He picks on me… but it’s fine… I simply pick back!

we sang… and sang some more…

    Need I say more…?

This is an artsy shot (below)… the guy I asked to shoot a few pics was lying on the floor just in front of the stage to get this shot.  Thanks Chuck!

We were recording a CD that we’ll use to give out to visitors when they come.  Hopefully, it’ll make them want to return!

In case you were concerned… I did see the Super Bowl though!

    Have a great week!!

  • Grrrrr AT Xanga!

I finally get back & try to post & I have about 2 paragraphs typed & get ready to save it yesterday and the site says “NO!’  It told me it was unavailable.  I am finally available and the stinkin’ site decides it isn’t!

Anyway, training was fun, intense, and a lot of other adjectives I could use to describe it, but the pics will tell a little about it.  I took a couple in our class and someone took one of me at a place you’d probably not expect to see me, but I just had to go… since I was so near Nashville & I had seen the movie… it’ll be the last one I stick in this entry.  Look at the sign behind me to see where I was.   I’ll try to stop by to see you soon… if the Xanga powers that be don’t decide that when I am available, they aren’t!

This was most of my class, there are a few on the other side, but I always ask when taking pics, “do you mind being on my little web page?” and on the other side of the class, a former military guy told me he’d really rather not be on the web… so I won’t post his pics.

I try to respect that when someone is serious about not wanting themselves on the WWW.  He may have good reason to be concerned about someone seeing him, unlike me, whom NOBODY knows! lol  This pic is our trainer, Kathryn.  She was nice and talented too!   Just look at our multi-covered family on the white board!  I’ll not explain this since it is a lengthy story, but it’s a blended family situation.

Now the company offered to fly us home each weekend if we wanted to go, but I have a wonderful friend who I hadn’t seen for about 10 years, who lives an hour away from where I was staying.  She lives in Clarksville and I was staying in Franklin/Brentwood just south of Nashville.  So the first weekend, she came Friday and took me to her favorite local eatery in downtown historic Franklin.  We are in this pic just talking away and eating our fill, dessert to come even!  We stopped long enough to have our sweet little southern talking waitress take a photo.   Now this was a ‘catch up’ time for sure.  But she’s still the same best-friend I ever had, even though we get to see each other so little.  I sure appreciate her… her faith and strength and steadfast ways have been an inspiration to me a number of times.

Just look at what I saw when she took me up to ‘my room’ where I enjoyed a weekend stay with her and her family.

This was how it looked to me when I walked in what was her younger daughter’s room.  Towels neatly on the bed, with my own brand new soap and shower wash stuff.  She’s so special.  She had our eating all arranged too.  Mostly we went to her favorite places and had wonderful meals and good conversation.  it was nice… but my waistline is screaming now!   I gained a bit on this trip… seems Tennessee has toooo many great food places.  Here’s another place we dined… in her town, called The Looking Glass.  We Also ate dessert here.  It was delicious!  We took a pic outside too, and one of the fish out in the icy pond.  I felt sorry for them.  Seems they’d freeze and die.  But they were just swimming around.  I’ll post that pic another day I think.  I still have a pic from church and the restaurant where we went after church to … yes Eat! LOL  I am now on a serious anti-fat campaign.

At the church I took a few of things going on in the service but we sat back from the stage so they were a bit dark.  I took one of Joan and her husband and younger daughter at the end of church.  They are such a nice family.

We went to the Chinese restaurant and again, I took several pics.  I may post some of those another time, but I have one good one of their family plus me and their older daughter’s boyfriend, David.  He was a very nice young man.  They make a cute couple I think and he seems to have high aspirations and be a hard worker.  So is Julie, their daughter.  She has 3 jobs, plus university studies.  So here is the pic from the Chinese place.   Alright, enough of the food!!  I need to get things done here to get ready for my day tomorrow and so I’ll save a few pics for another day.  Here is the last one and I have a confession to make… I watched the movie with the third muskateer, Candy, and her husband John and didn’t even realize there really was such a place.  I mean when I watched the movie, I thought it was a fictional place… Such a sheltered life I lead.

So here I am, at …

Yes!  The sign behind me says Coyote Ugly’s!  It was taken on a camera phone by a classmate.

Ok, that’s the first installment and may have to suffice for rthe week.  I pray you all have a great week and I’ll ‘see’ you around.

  • Happy Birthday C.S. Lewis

A great man from whom I’ve learned much, though I never knew him personally.  Many can say this I would think.

Today on breakpoint there is a great commentary to honor this author and professor.  I’d give the link, but am denied access here at work to a plethora of sites.  I can try adding it later.

    Have a great day all.
